Bonding & Tooth Shaping

Teeth can be affected by discoloration, spaces, gaps, chips and misalignment. A conservative way to repair any of these problems is bond and/or enamel shaping.

Bonding

This technique had been used for many years and can enhance aesthetics of teeth. Advances in cosmetic dental bonding procedures have led to improved strength and durability. Bonding is a great alternative to veneers because it is less expensive and usually can be completed in one office visit. However, bonded surfaces can stain and are easier to break than lab fabricated veneers.

Tooth Shaping

Enamel shaping is often combined with bonding and is usually quick and painless. No anesthesia is required when shaping the enamel and results can be seen immediately. This procedure helps contour natural teeth to improve the overall appearance. Enamel shaping is usually an option when there is only a minimal amount of discrepancy that needs to be corrected. Be aware that enamel shaping and bonding can’t solve all problems.
